Sandestin(ation)
Can you [pan]handle this [San]destination? Cue the Destiny's Child..."I don't think you can handle it," (insert finger wag).
Okay, bear with me here. We all have those super busy weeks at work where we start to get a little wacky, right? Well, that is me. Right now. Can you tell?
Despite a crazy week I have been looking forward to sharing some of my pictures from our trip to Sandestin over Labor Day weekend. Those cool blues and greens are my therapy right now! And this sunset on our first night...ahhmazing!
We drove down to Sandestin, a golf and beach resort in Miramar Beach, Florida, from Atlanta on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with our friends Renee and Adam. Arriving just in time to do some golf carting and cocktail drinking, we drove around to find the sunset at Baytowne Marina before enjoying some oysters at Hammerheads.
Saturday and Sunday were full on beach days for the girls (the boys opted for a round of golf Saturday morning) with a brief respite on Saturday for some football (its back, baby!). The beaches of the Florida panhandle, otherwise known as the Emerald Coast, are well known for their white sand and their beautifully clear blue-green waters.
*Fascinating fact: These stunning sugar-white beaches are composed of fine quartz eroded from granite in the Appalachian Mountains. The sand is carried seaward by rivers and creeks and deposited by currents along the shore. Tell me thats not cool!
On Sunday, we ventured to nearby Santa Rosa Beach for dinner at Louis Louis, a fun, family owned restaurant with delicious food and the not-to-be-missed Cucumber Basil Martini.
This was our first trip to an actual beach this year and it was just what we needed! Great friends, good food, the sun and the sea!
I don't think you ready for this jelly.
