4 Places You Still Have Time to Go in 2015
Every year, The New York Times publishes a list of its top picks for places to visit in that given year. This year's list of 52 Places to Go in 2015, provided an interactive look at places around the world, from Macedonia to Cleveland to Cuba. While I wouldn't turn down the chance to go to any of these places, I have had the chance to visit a few for myself so I thought I'd share my own top four picks from the list (four is much more manageable than 52, am I right?!).
Here are 4 Places You Still Have Time to Go in 2015. Get out there and explore!
1. St. Kitts
Kyle and I went to St. Kitts last August with some good friends and it is one of those places we enjoyed so much that we know we'll go back. This small, 65 square-mile island in the Caribbean offered the perfect mix of laid back relaxation and adventure. Though when we visited there was really only one major hotel, the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino, according to the NYT two more major developments are underway. Rent a Jeep, take the ferry to Nevis, see a volcano, grab a snorkel, spend the day at Shipwreck Beach, just GO!
2. Milan
"A revitalized city welcomes the world." That's how the New York Times introduced it's Numero Uno for this year's list, and I couldn't agree more.
Kyle and I were excited to spend some time in Milan during our Italian adventure over the summer and I shared much more about our time in Milan itself here, and our time at Expo Milano here. Bottom line: the Expo runs through the end of October and the entire experience ranks very high on my Awesome Life Experiences list. Use those airline miles...GO!
3. Rome
Rome is Rome and I'm fairly certain you could spend weeks there and barely scratch the surface of the many sites, monuments, museums, exhibitions, piazzas, fountains, etc. This summer was my second time in Rome and while all the main sites like the Colosseum and Pantheon are still on the must-see list, I would also highly recommend going off the beaten path and trying out a walking food tour in the Trastevere neighborhood. We did and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip! Read more about our Roman Holiday here. Then, hurry up and go there!
4. New Orleans
New Orleans is always a good time. There's Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, there's Harrah's Casino, there's the Garden District, there's Mardi Gras, Magazine Street, museums, carousel bars, live music, warm weather, beignets, shopping, dueling pianos, lots of plastic necklaces and some of the best food in the world! This one is easy, people...GO!
Stay Tuned...
Two more places from the list are upcoming adventures I'll be taking later this year, so be sure to check back to hear my thoughts on San Antonio and Île-de-France!
